Here on a plateau off the road between Victoria and Gharb stands this magnificent church.
It was near here in 1883 that a local peasant woman returning from her fields, heard a voice calling to her. A friend confided that he too had heard the voice and together they prayed for the woman's critically sick mother, who miracously recovered. From then on miracle cures multiplied and the little chapel became a place of pilgramage. To accommodate the thousands of followers, a neo-Romanesque church was built in the l920's though the original chapel is tucked into it, behind the main alter.
Malteses, like most Catholics, are very religious. In every step you will find a church dedicated to Mary Virgin or some Saint.
This is the Ta' Pinu church, probably the most beautiful church my eyes have ever witnessed!
The sanctuary today is a place of pilgrimage to thousands of devotees from Malta and Gozo as there are hundrends those who paid homage and recovered from serious maladies.
The Ta' Pinu Church is one of the biggest and the beautiful ones I saw in Malta. It is located in the country in a beautiful location with great views.
