I've heard a lot of locals recommending Marsaxlokk's market as the best place to buy souvenirs at a very convenient price.
But, I personally found the widely publicized Marsaxlokk market more a tourist trap than an attraction.
There was nothing special or cheaper than in other places in Malta and most of the things had also a poor quality.
Parrots, T-shirts, towels... Marsaxlokk shouldn't be missed for the beautiful view of the harbour not for the market.

Don't be the typical tourist and learn how to pronounce the name of this town correctly!Marsaxlokk is pronounced 'marshashlock' The name comes from the Arabic word 'marsa' meaning 'harbor' and 'lyokk',the Maltese name for the hot sirocco wind that blows from the Sahara.
