Palazzo Falson has recently been restored and opened up to the public as a historic house museum. It really is worth a visit - the structure in itself is very interesting and there are also so many things to see, oriental carpets, paintings, antique furniture... they give you an audioguide to go round the house which takes around 45 minutes but, believe me, you can spend even 2 hours there! Plus there's a coffee shop on the roof as well, with good food and a splendid view.

This spot is supposed to have been where St. Paul converted Publius, the roman Governor, to christianity. It was built between 1.697 and 1.702 by Lorenzo Gafà where a church was before being destroyed by an earhtquake in 1.693.

The Museum houses some historically important collections, with the reference collection holding over 10,000 rocks and minerals, over 3,500 birds, birds’ eggs and nests, 200 mammals, over 200 fish species, thousands of local and exotic shells and insects. The fossil collection is also noteworthy as it contains a number of large fish, numerous species of sea urchins and other marine fauna found embedded in limestone rocks.
Since I collect fossils and minerals I was very impressed with the beautiful collection.

The architectural crown of Mdina, the Cathedral Museum was originally a seminary and today serves as a significant religious museum.
A small chapel exhibiting church vestments is situated on the second floor. It also boasts an impressive cross-section of sacred art, famous paintings, a coin collection, Roman antiquities and original documents from the time of the Inquisition. The museum also contains a particularly rich collection of music manuscripts and there is a superb collection of woodcuts by Albrecht Dürer.

The Cathedral also know as St Paul's Cathedral is the architectural crown of the elegant, walled city of Mdina. A late 17th century masterpiece of Maltese architect Lorenzo Gafa', it lies on the site of a much earlier Norman church that was destroyed by the violent earthquake of 1693. The interior should also be worth a visit, unfortunately we couldn't visit it because when we visited everything was closed.

This attraction under the Vilhena Palace is a bit spooky and not suited for very small children. It's quite dark and tells medieval maltese history with a lot of bloody and messy details.
This attraction you'll find in more cities like Amsterdam etc. ofcourse with their local history.

The Knights of Malta in Mdina is a unique series of tableaux depicting the life and times of the knights. Five years in the making the attraction occupies three levels of extensive figure displays with 120 life-size characters in the most remarkable and historical chambers adorned with period decor and costume.
All tableaux give a great inside on life in early maltese days and maltese history, also very nice for the kids!
You get an audio guide available in different languages guiding you through the tableaux, very interesting.
