 Mellieha Bay Terminus by Bigs
This bus costs 15, 18 or 20 cents. Malta is seperated in three zones. For one zone it's 15 cent, for two zones 18 cents and for three zones 20 cents.For the way Mellieha-Valetta it's 18 cents.

Costs 40 cents as it's a direct route bus.

The minibuses they use are fine in cooler weather but I imagine they'd be pretty uncomfortable on a hot day. Still, they get you to various places and give you some interesting titbits of information.
You can book lunch on some of the tours; it's up to you, but we didn't bother. Take a picnic though, because at least one of the restaurants they use (and it was very pleasant inside) is on an industrial estate. Nothing much there to see or do for an hour or so.

 An old yellow bus in Malta by SandiMandi
Buses no. 44 and 45 go to Valletta, tickets cost 25c/person. These buses go via Mosta and it takes about 50-60 mins to reach Valletta, depending on the traffic. If you catch an older bus, the trip is not very convenient, but bearable.
Bus No. 645 goes to Sliema (via Paceville/St. Julian's), tickets 50c/person. More convenient route as it follows the coastline so you can enjoy the nice views on your way. Theme: Bus

There are the following bus routes:
Route 43: Valetta – Mellieha center
Route 44: Valetta – Mellieha center - Mellieha Bay
Route 45: Valetta - Mellieha center - Cirkewwa
Route 48: Bugibba – Cirkewwa
The best would be to get a map with all the bus routes. And ask the bus driver where he goes to so that you don’t find yourself in the wrong bus! Leave a Comment

 The lovely yard by Bigs
In the middle of the square there is a fountain and in one corner of the yard there are a view small trees. Really romantic! One of my favourite places in Mellieha Leave a Comment

Another nice view over the church you get from Santa Marija, the new part of the town which lies on the other side of the valley...

With its 6,500 inhabitants, Mellieha is considered one of Malta's largest village located in the northwestern part of the island.
Due to its large sandy beach, Mellieha is among the most popular tourist destinations during the summer months despite the fact that there's very little to do day or night, apart from the entertainment provided by the hotels, some bars and tavernas.

The water is clear and the beach is really sandy, no stones etc... I found it even cleaner than Golden Bay.
There are many kiosks selling fresh and cold fruitslads or icecream if you like and you can rent an umbrella and sunchairs, which is quite comfortably for a day a t the beach I think.
