Packing List

I was so concerned about sticking out as a tourist, but guess what? There are so many tourists that you all look the same. Now keep in mind that the average daily temp while we were there was in the high 60's; what is it with the Brits that they think this is shorts and T-Shirt weather -- God love them! I was in a sweater and jeans all the time and comfortable. Anything that you forget, you can buy anywhere so don't overpack. You can purchase film and camera batteries everywhere. We always carried an umbrella since January and February are reported to be the rainy time of year, but only used it a couple of days. And even so it was never a 'pouring' rain.

If you're going to make use of public transport I would definetly avoid bring a large suitcase - there just isn't any room on the buses, especially if they're crowded. Less is more in Summer when the weather is scorching hot. Light clothing is always recommended during the summer months.Even in Winter, you don't really need to bring bulky clothes. Bring spring clothing and a jacket or two. Sunblock, Sunblock and more Sunblock. A bottle of Aftersun wouldn't be wasted either. Our Winter sun can also be pretty strong so always cover your face no matter what time of the year. Do bring a great big SMILE with you to Malta. The friendlier you appear the easier it will be to find help from the locals - we just love happy tourists !!!

Very cool clothes in Summer, because it gets extremely hot and dry, temperature reaches between 30-40 deg. cel. Obviously your swimsuit to swim in one of our many beaches, to relieve yourself from the sweltering heat, and comfy open sandals! In Winter, you would need a light jacket for the evening, and a couple of jumpers. It's not exactly North Pole around here! haha If you plan on visiting Malta in summer, please bring anti-mosquito spray with you!! They are the biggest pains in the world, and if you are the type of person they annoy, then get protection against them! If they do bite, they won't do any harm, but better be safe than sorry!! Loads of camera/photo shops around, found mostly in the busier areas like Sliema/Valletta/Bugibba/St. Julian's etc... So no probs there. Beach: Loads and loads of sunblock! A hat/cap would be a good idea and lotsssss of smiles!!!!! We love happy...

The sun worshipper who flees Northern Europe's cold and damp winter weather finds in Malta the perfect refuge. For Malta guarantees warmth and sunshine also at winter time with temperatures averaging 14C and a minimum average 6 hours per day. So - don't get too many warm clothes as you won't need them here! Only in winter you might need a jacket, otherwise is very warm here. No problem with it, as you will find everything you need!

Light summer clothing. Sundresses, capri pants, light cotton blouses. A pair of comfortable shoes for walking and a pair of nice shoes for going out.Maybe a light jacket for night or if you take a boat and it is windy. A couple of swimsuits, lots of places to go swimming!!!Sunglasses are a must!!!It is sooooo nice and sunny most of the time and the sun reflects off the limestone too! I brought most of my stuff from home, but you can get whatever you need here easily. Maybe bring some dramamine if you are prone to seasickness. You will visit many places by boat here! And don't forget LOTS AND LOTS OF SUNSCREEN!!! I have a very fair complexion naturally and I went to a tanning bed a few weeks before I left to get a basetan so I wouldn't burn as easliy . I used tons and tons of sunscreen all the time too and still managed to get a slight burn on my nose and shoulders. I can't even imagine...

Malta has a Mediterranean climate: mild winters and hot summers. In winter it's never colder than 10°C, but it rains sometimes. In summer temperatures can reach more than 40°C. So, if you're visiting Malta in summer, bring some shorts and t-shirts; in winter a jacket, pullover and jeans. lots of sunscreen!!!

In august it's incredibly hot ... so avoid any rain connected items, it's useless. If you plan to use a laptop from wherever pls remember they have a special socket o the wall, the UK-like type: bring an adaptor with you, you'll not find on site.

Plug

by Gili_S

You might want to take with you plug adapter as Malta has 3 large pin British standard sockets and your camera, phone or whatever charger will not fits.
