Busy Bee: Busy Bee

by Elly01

Busy Bee is a cafeteria where one can have hot snacks and pies, pastries and cakes, coffee, tea or softdrinks. However most people come to this place to order 'Kannoli' . These are very popular in Malta. They are made of baked pastry shells in the shape of a cylindar and then stuffed with cottage cheese 'Ricotta' mixed with sugar or icing sugar. At times they mix cherries or candid fruit or chopped chocolate with the Ricotta. And then to finish off these kannolli are dipped into chopped nuts and the nuts get stuck where the Ricotta touches. On the top of the kannolli icing sugar is then sprinkled. Tempting eh ! ;-) Kannoli - I think Busy Bee make the best Kannolli of Malta and Gozo ! Believe me I have tasted alot !

Ricardo's: A taste of Local flavour

by Ben193

If you going to be in Gozo then visit the Citadella. Walk around the bastion's and there is a magnificent view. Also visit Ricardo's, it is a small place very relaxed and order a plater. You will get a whole Maltese bread cut up and a mixture of toppings. It is a Local speciality Hobz Biz-zejt. (Bread with oil)

Le Mar - Seabank Hotel: Are you traveling with kids?

by dowdow

If you're traveling with kids (and even if you're not), then this restaurant is for you, because downstairs they have a large play area for young kids and also billiard tables, a bowling alley and amusement machines for the older kids as well. The restaurant food is very good and you can enjoy all sorts of food like pizza, pasta, grills etc inside or outside on the restaurant's terrace as well. They also have a kids menu.

Eastern Breeze: A Fusion of Eastern and Asian Cuisine

by mazzap

Eastern Breeze is situated within the Hotel Inter-Continental in St Julians. It was certainly very different from most other dining we experienced in Malta. Very attentive staff - a bit overbearing at times - but the food was very good. A mixture of Asian and Far Eastern. Not ideal if you are in a hurry - too expensive to not enjoy at leisure! We chose the selection designed for sharing as a starter - lots of small and tasty sample sized portions. The menu had various noodle and rice dishes to follow.

Ron's Restaurant: Don't Miss the Fresh Seafood ! RR

by Elly01

Ron's Restaurant is situated in Marsaxlokk on the seafront. The place is ideal for Summer and for Winter as one can sit outside or inside. If you reserve the table in front of the balcony - one can also enjoy the nice sea view of Marsaxlokk. The owner Ron is really friendly and helpful and will go out of his way to assist you if you need ! Well they serve fish but since I did not like fish I chose veal with a mushroom sauce. The meat was cooked very well and I must say it was very good meal. Even though I don't like fish I was told that the fish was very fresh.

The Mongolian Barbeque: Eat as much as you like!

by dowdow

I really love going here... What you do is you choose from a combination of meat, poultry or seafood, add your favourite vegetables, your preferred sauces and spices, decide if you want rice, noodles or couscous and leave for the chef to cook for you. You can follow their recipes or try your own and you can repeat as often as you like. They also have reduced prices during the day. There are two Mongolian Restaurants here in Malta. One is in Paceville and the other is in Islet Promenade, Bugibba.

The Boat House: For a really Romantic Evening!

by dowdow

This marvellous restaurant is situated in a beautiful 19th century boathouse once belonging to the Noble Scicluna family and it's an excellent place for a really romantic evening. The food is great and you will surely be delighted with the ambience and the surroundings of this restaurant.... Nearly forgot, it doesn't open in Winter and I strongly recommend reservations!

La Gioconda: More Maltese cuisine

by nigelw6443

This small, friendly restaurant is on a side street just off the main square. It has seating inside and out but we choseto sit outside, Better for watching the world go by. The service was good and friendly and the food excellent! A tip is not to order off the wine list but ask for a carafe. It is a lot cheaper and the wine is good if not better than some of the bottled we had tried before. Fish Soup (Aljotta) very tasty!

The Salad Bowl: Maltese cuisine

by nigelw6443

I stayed in Bugibba and tried food in various restaurants. I mention the Salad Bowl because it is just off the main square and I ate there 3 times in a week. they offered a selection from steak to Italian, local cuisine and fresh fish every day. All the fresh fish were displayed for you to choose. Maltese fried rabbit was excellent, the fish was great too, I had swordfish also tried the cerna or grouper and the scampi was great. Also good is the local Aljotta which is a fish soup. For wine I chose the local, which you buy by the litre or half litre carafe. This is by far the cheapest and after sampling a couple of bottles before , I would say it was the best wine.
