Paparazzi Restaurant: Great Setting - Huge Portions!

by mazzap

Great choice of pizzas, pastas, burgers, steaks, salads and many other choices on a trendy menu!We had a VT meeting here - 11 of us attended (7 VT'ers) and evrybody's food portions were huge and tasty.Service was good and great views over St Julians bay. The buzzing atmosphere makes this restaurant a popular place to eat. Book a table to avoid disappointment. Everything looked good - I had a pasta dish with basil and salmon - very green in colour, but very nice!

'Charlie il-Mahmug': Very good local restaurant - serves Maltese food!

by Elly01

I am not very sure of the name of the restuarant but that's what everyone calls this place and to tell u the truth it had no name on the restuarant. Here loads of people come to eat rabbit which is a typical Maltese dish. You can have it with garlic and fried or then with a tomatoe sauce and peas. Don;t forget to try as a starter spaghetti (pasta) with rabbit sauce - simply delicious ! They also serve horse meat and chicken here. As apetitisers we had snails and 'bigilla' which is a local dip. This is done with mashed beans, garlic, lemon and oil ! But the most amazing of all was the dessert - it was a sort of rich chocolate mousse but the taste was out of this world !!!!It amounted to ten Maltese pounds per person but we where a big group and we drank loads of wine too ! I liked everything about this restaurant. The place is quite a relaxed place to go and you will feel at home !!! The...

Bloomers: A Great Atmosphere!

by mazzap

Bloomers is a busy and lively restaurant in the centre of St Julians. A range of salads, pizzas, and pastas amongst other dishes, but not really traditional Maltese. The food is very fresh and well presented, with large portions. Friendly and attentive staff. May be advisable to book at busy times - we saw several disappointed people turned away. Everything we had was very good. Especially the prawn salad - plenty of tasty prawns and crisp fresh salad.

Fluid: Great Burgers and Pastas!

by mazzap

Fluid is a diner type café situated within the Bay Street shopping complex opposite the Hotel Inter-Continental in St Julians. It is trendy and functional with video screens and loud music. The staff were NOT particularly friendly or helpful - quite the opposite in fact, but not bad enough that we didn't go back! The food was its redeeming feature that made us return! Great selection of lovely burgers and pasta dishes. The array of deserts was truly amazing too- but beware, the main courses are huge, so unfortunately we never got to try any! Can't remeber the name, but it was the burger with everything on it! Excellent!

Girasole: Romantic Restaurant with a Lovely View

by mazzap

Girasole is one of a few of St Julians waterfront restaurants with a prime view over the harbour. All the seating is upstairs which is even better. Colourful romantic décor with an emphasis on sunflowers!Friendly, efficient staff and very good food. A varied menu including lots of traditional Maltese. Stuffed local squid was excellent - as was the catch of the day.

Trattoria del Nonno: The pasta is superb here !!

by Elly01

The place is really small and clastophobic but its good for a nice Winter meal. Can get a bit smokey at times especially if there are loads of people as only about 6 tables fit as I already said place is small. However the food here is really good and they serve good wine and good desserts. Food took a bit long as everything is fresh and not pre cooked ! Pasta with mushrooms, ham and cream !

Lord Nelson: One of the best restaurants in Malta !

by Elly01

The restaurant is a converted old townhouse which overlooks the Mosta dome. The place is decorated in a very sweet rustique way which in Winter gives you this warm feeling of being home! It is mostly a Wintery place as it has no tables outside however in Summer the place is air-conditioned. The food is top quality food with a vast selection of dishes to choose from in the menu. It's special because the dishes can vary from Italian, French to Maltese cuisine. Usually, one can choose the three dishes of his or her choice from beforehand therefore one does not have to wait a long time. Besides, the owner is really friendly and nice and makes you feel at home. I have loads of favourite dishes here so I cannot list them all besides the dishes always change therefore you cannot just remember one dish. However, I remember tasting this duck dish with plum sauce and I can tell you it was really...

by joeco9

Alfresco at The PremierThe Premier restaurrant has a long history I remember my parents talking about it some 60 years ago.this restaurant is located inside the walled city of Valletta. so set back with a good coffee and just watch the world go by and give a thought to Malta's rich history and those that came before you like , The Carthaginian, The Physicians, The Arabs,The Romans, The Kinghts of St. John, The French (Napoleon) and The British, knowing all this history it's hard not to be amazed by this wonderful city, all this histiry and a good coffee surely is the best way to enjoy Valletta

Clara May: The best food in Malta

by travellingcat

Every time we go to Malta we eat at this place almost every night. It has a great menu with gorgeous pasta dishes, pizza, steak and salads. My favourites are the hot penne arrabiatta, spicy! The Maltese peppered goats cheese salad is gorgeous and I still get cravings for it!The staff are so friendly it comes as a real surprise when you are used to awful British service. The last time we went back we hadn't been to malta for almost 4 years and the head waitor still remembered out order! And I ate so much of the spinach raviloli the first time i was there that the owner gave me a frozen bag of it to take home penne arrabiatta, really hot tomato-based past a dish, but you can get it milder if you ask
