Kandless restaurant: Bad restaurant in paceville

by simonepalmieri

Don't go to this typical maltese place , from outside seems nice but ... they bring us an orrible and expensive wine , then instead of a grilled fresh swordfish , like written in the menu, they served us a kind of frozen boiled swordfish...!! Bad experience , avoid it !!!

La Luna de Sera: Outstanding food and service! Yes, it can be found

by Scoobydoo5000

Near the church in Naxxar, La Luna de Sera is almost certainly the classiest restaurant in Malta. It's part of the Palazzo Parisio and it's a place for romantic dinners and very special occasions. Not cheap, but the food is absolutely amazing. Expect to pay around 70 Euros a head including a bottle of good wine. Lots of little surprise extra courses. Service is just impeccable. Really attentive waiters who actually know all about proper service. How novel in Malta. It's all just amazing and truly outstanding.

New Tower Palace Sliema: Disgusting food thieves on price

by whitemaninjungle

The restaurant at this hotel is a blatant rip-off and is stealing from the clients. I dined here in June 2009 ordering a bottle of wine from the menu and notating the price. When the check came the price was FOUR TIMES HIGHER than the listed menu price. I complained to the waiter and said I would not pay the overcharged amount and was told it was a misprint and I would have to pay for their blatant mistake. As I refused to pay the incorrect amount but did offer to pay the listed price on the menu, the waiter threatened to call the police! I have NEVER IN ALL MY LIFE IN ALL MY TRAVELS been treated and so obviously ripped off and stolen from fraudulently by a restaurant as I was at the New Tower Palace. Not wanting to deal with the police on my holiday, I paid the thieves for the overcharged wine. I advise all to stay away from this hotel (note the horrible reviews) and the thieving...

Trabuxu: Trabuxu

by pure1942

Trabuxu is a wine bar located not far off Triq il-Repubblika and quite close to our hotel, so we popped in here a few times. The place has a great range of foreign and local wines and is reasonably priced. However, wine isn’t the only offering here as they produce great platters to go with your wine and a few more substantial meals (pasta and meat dishes) It is the platters that make this place worthwhile though, with cheese platters, pate and meat platters to go with the wine of your choice. The place gets very busy and you may have to book a table in advance.

La Cave: La Cave

by pure1942

After splashing out on previous nights, we went for a cheaper option this time and went on a lonely guide recommendation of La Cave. The pizza/pasta menu sounded good to us and the location in a 400 year old cellar close to the Auberge de Castille was very charming. Not the best of Valletta’s dining options but the Maltese pizza (Peppered Goats Cheese, Maltese Sausage and Olives) and bottle of Gozo Red went down very well. Very reasonably priced too.

Don Berto: Don Berto

by pure1942

Ate in Don Berto in Vittoriosa one evening and where pleased with our choice. The restaurant is located close to the Maritime Museum on the Vittoriosa Wharf and overlooks the Dockyard Creek and Marina. We sat outside on a lovely balcony giving great views over the harbour and across to Valletta. I had a tasy meal of barbequed rack of spare ribs with caramalised onion and roast veg, while Denise had crab and lobster filled ravioli. Washed it all down with a nice Marsovin Red from Northern Malta. Good food, good setting and reasonable price...perfect.

Fusion 4: Fusion 4

by pure1942

Fusion Four was a real find for us in Valletta. The restaurant is located in a cellar in St. John’s Cavalier, part of the Valletta outer fortifications. The restaurant has a small but delicious menu of fusion dishes such as Fillet Steak wrapped in Parma Ham, Red Thai Curry Chiken Thighs, Mediteranean Prawns and Pork fillet wrapped in Pancetta. The proprietors of the restaurant are extremely welcoming and friendly and did everything possible to ensure we had an enjoyable meal. The restaurant has a small museum at the back which was there when they took over the property and they delighted in showing us the small mechanically powered display showing traditional Maltese life. Onother bonus is a beautiful outdoor courtyard sitting between the Bastion towers and looking out onto the entrance of the Main Gate of the city. The restaurant also has an extensive wine menu. The restaurant was more...

Cafe de Paris, Marsaxlokk: Local seafood restaurant

by hopang

Cafe de Paris Restaurant at Marsaxlokk offers a wide range of inexpensive seafood served in a casual atmosphere accompanied by panaromic view of the sea. In fact the whole seafront is dotted with numerous inexpensive seafood restaurants. The summer can be quite hot at Marsaxlokk. This is a favourite place for those who need a break from the chaos of the city! Fish from the catch of the day and squids srvied with fried potatoes and sallads.
