The Blue lagoon, situated near Comino, IS fantastic! But if you want to spend the whole day in this fantastic lagoon and are thinking of going there by your own you might be disappointed. The lagoon is packed with tourists, and there is no place to lie down and sunbathe. To get to the best part of the lagoon, you have to follow the path along the lagoon and climb down some narrow, stone steps ..tricky for the kids and the elderly. This brings you to a tiny sandy beach (approx. 10 people can place their towels on the beach) and apart from the small sandy area, there are sharp rocks.. No where to sit or lie down.. If you go here by boat, you can always go back to your boat to soak up some sun before taking another swim in the lovely clear water in the lagoon.
Unique Suggestions: Get there as early as possible..and I mean early as in before the boats get there; 8-9 AM. Or... go there by boat.
Fun Alternatives: There are some sunbeds located on a platform just outside the lagoon, very crowded, and no private space.. but at least you have somewhere to put your stuff.
