Siggiewi

A quick visit here on the way to the Neolithic temples of Mnajdra and Hagar Qim was a bonus - the bus stopped here for a few minutes so off we popped and snapped a few shots against the bright blue sky. The village of Siggiewi was one of the 10 original parishes and has a church of course - one of the foremost baroque churches on the island of Malta.

St Nicholas Church

We didn't have time to go in the church - besides which we were enjoying the sunshine too much. However the interior apparently has an ornate baroque interior.

St Nicholas

The square in Siggiewi is dominated by the huge dazzling white statue of the saint of the church's patron - St Nicholas. It ceretainly was eye-catching.
