These prehistoric temples date to about 3150 BC. They are the oldest free standing temples in the world. It is a big complex situated near a cemetery which remained in use from as early as those days.

The place is situated in an old Palazzo in the main street of Tarxien. Its set in a semi basement room, and ambience is both romantic and mysterious. The chef and staff very friendly. I recommend
Favorite Dish: The pear and gorgonzola ravioli for starters, and the t-bone of veal as a main course. really value for money.

The easiest way to arrive to Tarxien is by bus as almost all buses leaving from Valletta and heading South pass through here. Bus numbers are 8, 11, 12, 13, 27, 29 and 30. They are really cheap (20c!) and can get you there in no time.
