You really must try to find...

You really must try to find time to take the ferry to Gozo, the island to the north of the main island of Malta.Gozo is much more sparsely populated and there are many lovely 'unknown' places to visit. One of these is Ramla Bay, which is found to the north of Gozo. This is a beautiful beach which, even when relatively busy, allows you your own space. The waves can be really good around here, as well.

Marsaxlokk is a lovely, as-yet-untouched fishing village on the south side of Malta. Every morning, there is a market which usually caters for bus-loads of tourists. A good day out is to visit Marsaxlokk in the morning, take in the fish market, have a fresh fish lunch and then nip off to Peter's Pool (see other pages). The cafes / restaurants on the sea front at Marsaxlokk do not look particularly appetising, but they are good places to get a VERY cheap meal of freshly caught fish.Marsaxlokk offers you the opportunity to see how the old fishermen of Malta still operate to this day. Because the town is so untouched by tourism, it gives you an insight to life on the island among the locals.

Malta has some of the best...

Malta has some of the best diving in Europe, so give it a try.The church at Mosta is worth a visit, if you can get through the crowds and tour buses. The Sunday market at Valetta is loads of fun, but watch your wallet!

Put aside a day to take a boat outing which takes you around the whole circumference of the island. You leave Sliema around 10am, stop for an inclusive lunch at Comino and return to where you started from around 5.00pm...a glorious day! What other country in the world allows you an opportunity to completely circle it by boat in less than 8 hours - including a lunch stopover
