Il Collachio is a district of Vittoriosa, with traditional architecture lining its narrow alleyways and lanes. It has an Italian name and looks like a Southern Italian city.
Victoria, with a population of just under 7,000, is Gozo's main town. It is dominated by its citadel known as Il-Kastell.
Victoria's Cathedral of the Assumption was built between 1697 and 1711, on the site of an earlier Norman church, and is a fine example of Maltese baroque architecture.
Saint Agatha hid in these catacombs after her flight from Sicily, 249-251 AD. The frescoes on the walls date back to the 12th century.
Rabat is the town outside the walled city of Mdina. It has plenty to see including a Roman villa and early Christian catacombs. Both St Paul and St Agatha are said to have stayed here.
