You can reach Malta also by boat from Sicily and iTaly. Also to get from Malta to Gozo and Comino there are ferries and private boats.
The easiest way to reach Malta is to take a plane. There is a nice international airport in the middle of the island. Air Malta has nice airplanes, which go to all mayor European city.
These old buses operate on the island. They get to all places, and it's a lot of fun to travel by them!
Let's go malta.
From Amsterdam Schihol airport there are 5 flight a day by Air Malta to the island Malta......!!
A 3 hour flight.......!
Because the busses are old a prayer won't hurt.
Although we have never seen a broken down bus, it is not hard to imagine that happens. The busses are at least 20 years old, and most of them older.
The busses are old but everywhere. They ride frequently and are cheap. But that is also the reason of them being overcrowded.
You will usually find them in Taxi Stands, it's not very common to hail a taxi... Ask the driver to use the meter though cos they might rip you off!!
Be aware and pay attention! You can see Comino's Island from Malta to Gozo's Island. This little island is not visited but you can enjoy a wonderful landscape view as me in this pic! :-D
Riding the buses in Malta is quite an experience. They look like they are going to break down. the driviers are wild. They just go-not on the right, not on the left, wherever they want to.
Plenty of good flights through london and the rest of europe.
Busses are cheap, easily and usually on time. Most hotels have bus rout maps. Most trips are 15cents Lira up to 40cents lira.
A good and cheep way to get around is to take the bus. The bus starts in and ends Valetta. Many of the busses are rally beautiful oldtimers.
We flew from Amsterdam to Malta.
We used buses. BUT remember to have small change for the fares as you do not get change back from the driver.
public buses are cheap and go everywhere in Malta. If you want to see Gozo, there is ferry a service from Cirkewwa to Gozo.
There are ferries to and from Tunisia.
Walk in the towns - rent a car and DRIVER. DO NOT try to drive on Malta - besides the most narrow roads in the world they are all crazy when behind the wheel. Ride a Bus - it is an experience
