This is the main street of Valletta, and it's plenty of shops, mostly of the typical souvenirs all tourists look for (apart from other kind of shops).

What to buy: Nougat is available, very reasonably priced from a large number of stalls in Malta. Admittedly you might pay more than in a shop, but you might not think of it.

In Republic Street you will find many souvenir shops that sell local crafts. These in the photo are handmade and really beautiful.

Each Sunday morning there is a flea market at Valletta Gate. If you want to buy cheap clothes, CDs, local crafts, it`s recommended to visit this.

Once through the City Gate you enter Republic Street with the bigger shops.
Some are small, but deep or even with multiple stories.

Valletta is a good place to waste money on clothes. Britannia Center on St. Lucia Street and Savoy Arcade on Naxxar Road have a lot of boutiques and shops to explore.
