The Malta Experience is an audio visual show which could be a good introduction to the history of Malta from prehistoric times up to the present days.

It is not a movie. Lots of pics about Malta are shown on a big screen into a huge auditorium. You are given a headphone, so that you can hear the explanation in your language. It is dificult to explain how it works. you have to go and watch this show.

Malta Experience

The leaflet say "Your Ideal First Stop on the Island" and really, if you make it your first stop, you won't be disappointed, because at The Malta Experience you can get a brief knowledge about Malta's history from Stone Age and so an idea of the places you should visit. It is a 45mins show, airconditioned, and you can also select your desired language from a choice of 13. There is also a Gift Shop and a Cafeteria as well.

Shows are held every day, every hour from 11.00am til 4.00pm. Sat, Sun and Public Holidays til 1.00pm only and from Oct-June til 2.00pm.

* No shows are held on Christmas Day, New Year Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

The Malta Experience shows Malta's colourful history, it is housed in part of the Hospital (Sacra Infirmeria).

The state-of-the-art multivision technology telescopes 7000 years of turbulent change and drama into a wonderful, and unforgettable 45 minutes viewing.

The auditorium is air conditioned, has earphones which gives you a choice of 13 languages.

After watching the spectacular experience, there is a gift shop to browse through, and an outside cafe.

The cost (January 2005) is Lm3.00 per person.

Well worth the money and time spent.
It may be useful to watch the events unfold before visiting the historic sites.

· An ideal way to start your tour of the Islands is by visiting the newly updated Malta Experience at the Mediterrenean Conference Centre in Valletta, an excellent audio visual programme covering the history of Malta through the Ages. Mdina, the old capital which simply has to be visited, has its own show, the Mdina Experience. In Gozo the Gozo 360 ° is equally impressive

SEE THE MALTA EXPERIENCE SHOW I really feel that it is important to see this audio-visual presentation which covers 7,000 years of Malta's history from Neolithic times onwards. I think it would be most beneficial to attend this show the first or second day of your stay there,so when you visit the historic sites, you will be able to appreciate and understand them more. The show lasts approximately 50 minutes and there are earphones offered with a large selection of languages ,so you can choose the language of your choice.
7,000 years of Malta's history condensed into 50 minutes. Although this barely scratches the surface of Malta's rich history,it is an excellent overview.

Visit the 'Malta Experience' at the St Lazarus station on the Grand Harbour. I
. It is an audio-visual show, which gives you a good idea about the history of Malta from the Stone Age to the present day. Shows are given at set times through the day.
