    This is how citizens of Tiraspol prepare to Christmas. You can see in the picture the highest Christmas tree in the city. Rember that Christmas in Orthodox Church is about two weeks after Catholic one.

    Transnistria - or as some Russian nationalists and all Soviet hardliners use to call it 'Pridniestrovye' - is definitely off the beaten path as a whole and their government does its best to keep it in this situation.

    It's not really off the beaten path, but never mind. When you're in Tiraspol you just can't miss the monuments of Lenin and Suvorov. Oh, and there is a WWII tank, like in every Russian town.
