You will hardly ever see the owners of these elegant yachts in the port of Monte Carlo, you might only see the staff polishing them the whole day and in fact they are shining like beeing brand new. I really enjoyed walking there along the pier and taking photos of all of these yachts was no problem as well. One of the yachts even had a car onboard - see it in my last picture !
The Monte Carlo Yacht Club is in fact one of the most prestigious yacht clubs on earth and it was founded by Prince Rainier III in 1953. There is a building there right on the pier and it reminds me a lot of an elegant cruiseship and the yachts opposite of this building are extremely elegant and who knows who are the owners of these yachts
The Monaco Yacht Club has more than 800 members of 44 different nations and when you considder that an appartment in Monte Carlo with just 82 square-meters will cost you 3.200.000 € you might considder bying a yacht instead and park it in Monaco, BUT who knows what the fees are for a steady place in the port of Monte Carlo.
Ok, so you're walking around and you see boats. Well, maybe not boats, but yachts. Big yachts! Then you must be near the Monte Carlo Marina. Take a look at the fabulous vessels bobbing in the water and dream.. maybe a good bet at the casino will help you to buy one for yourself.
For a great view, and a place
for some great pictures, take
a walk up the road leading to
the Palais and the Musees.
We took these pictures of the
Harbour and the Marina about
1/2 way up .....
