Nightlife is not a problem. Three casinos - including the famous Monte Carlo Casino - beckon. Discos abound, restaurants - while surprisingly mediocre - are plentiful. You won't be bored. Surprisingly, attire is casual in most places, with the exception of the more expensive places such as the Hotel de' Paris restaurant and the back rooms of the Monte Carlo Casino. In most of the casino, casual attire is acceptable, though you will feel a bit underdressed. If that is a problem, two other smaller casinos down the road are available.

The world-famous Monte-Carlo Casino is a perennial attraction. Every thing about Casino's started here in Monte-Carlo by the italians.Nice place to hang about, specially in the evenings when there a great cocktail parties and dinners are held in the function room inside the Casino. As I have mentioned, you MUST go to the Casino and dress nicely. There are many very wealthy people who come to Monaco's casino and it is a very safe place to be at night, so be sure to experience an evening stroll as well. While romance was not in the air on my trip to Monaco, this has the potential to be a VERY romantic place.

$$$$ if you have good luck. If you plan on just playing the slots, you can go to the 'American' style casino which has no entrance fee and you don't have to get very dressed up. But if you want to pay a little more to get into the nice casino to play for the bigger bucks, you should dress accordingly.

'A NIGHT IN MONTE CARLO' is the title of a well-known song often sung during gala evenings which end up with marvellous firworks. Every evening thousands of lights go on and every terrace, balcony and window offers a different view over the Monte Carlo Amphitheatre.

No bands of drunken lager louts roaming the streets of Monte Carlo at night - the discreet but ever-present police make sure of that. You are more likely to encounter a couple of Lagerfeld lads as they stroll in their casual designer jackets on their way to some chic nightspot. Find a corner in Le Texan bar, eke out your euros by ordering beer by the pitcher, and watch Monaco's jeunesse dorée primp and prance before you.

Not as classy as the Main Casino, therefore maybe a better choice for you !?!Less impressive, but less intimidating also. Very nice people to meet anyway, maybe a bit more American (duh!!!) style games and all.

Nightlife?? Hm... let's see. If there's any serious partying to be done, we did them all at Nice or Cannes. So, I really can't give you that accurate a picture of the happening spots in and around Monte Carlo. But...for those of you out there who cherish a secret ambition to be the King of Gamblers, you can try your hand at the gaming tables in the Monte Carlo Casino. ;-) That's me (again) in the pic below, standing just outside the famed casino... To gain entry into the casino, dress up please!

Cafe de Paris: Elegant Nightcap

If you feel the urge to mingle, the Cafe de Paris is a good place to stop and sip a late night aperitif. You can watch the action and the people going in and out of the Casino.
