Traveling by Train

by Goner

The Monaco-Monte Carlo (SNCF) railway station is a stop for many international trains. The railway is a rapid means of communication between the Principality and all the localities of the C?te d`Azur from Cannes to Menton.>>>>>The TGV Mediterranee line, completed on 7 June 2001, runs between Paris and Monaco (journey time - 5 hours, 45 minutes). Now that's and amazingly fast trip.

Parking

by Goner

There are Car Parks at chemin des P?cheurs car park, built to serve Monaco-Ville, is located under the Oceanographic Museum ; it can hold 55 coaches and 750 private cars. With the permanent development of the new area of Fontvieille, more the 2,700 places for private cars and 180 places for camping cars are also available. I've added this tip as parking is not easy to come by in Monaco.

On Foot

by Goner

Because Monaco is so compact -- just 486 acres, smaller than New York's Central Park -- it's easy to get around on foot. Walking the whole coastline, just 2 1/2 miles, requires a couple of hours tops.

Take the train from Nice.

by worldkiwi

Take the train from Nice. I took a train at 0911 and it cost just over six euros. The service is quick and comfortable. You're in Monaco in about twenty minutes. There's a good information centre in the railway station. Pick up a guide to tourist sites. They're very helpful and friendly in the info centre.Monaco has a good bus service which takes the huff and puff out of walking around the city. Use it to get between main areas and then walk within those areas.

..All the way to Monaco...

by KiNyA

We were going to Monaco from Nice. Trains go each 30 minutes so there shouldn't be any probelms with catching them. Going to Monaco is a beautiful experience cause I saw a lot of little village, more or less touristic, on the way. On the picture there's me in the front of Monaco - Monte Carlo train station.
