When visiting Amsterdam you absolutely must: visit a coffeeshop Fondest memory of Amsterdam: clubbing in the IT or the Escape. And don't forget to See the dunes and dykes and other famous water works like Oosterschelde kering in Zeeland(sealand). AMSTERDAM: - Everything is allowed as long as you do not bother someone else, it is ok to be gay, black, brown, chinese, purple, communist, republican, for death penalty, against death penalty. Attention when visting a well known club like the IT, Escape, Sinners do not wear sport gear, bleu jeans, t-shirts.
If you want Life Music in Amsterdam there are 2 places I can recommend. The first one is ' Heeren van Amstel' They have life bands every night. Sometimes they play dutch music, but sometimes it is english. Just check beforehand. The other one is Bourbon street, which has life Jazz and Blues music every night. Both of these pubs get really crowded and really get going later in the evening. Depending on what band plays, it can become a real party in Heeren van Amstel. Sometimes they have a TV show from there.Bourbon Street can get very busy aswell, but the atmosphere is a bit calmer. You can just have a beer and enjoy the music or dance away, whatever you like. Both places don't really have a dresscode. Just dress like the dutch do, nothing too fancy, just comfortable.
Sure, there are lots of great disco's in the City of Groningen, but why not visit a huge disco, NOT in the City of Groningen, but in the small village of Zevenhuizen (where I live). There's a fantastic disco with several 'corners'. The 70's corner and a western-corner. The disco is called 'Pruim' after the owner. But, a little bit outside Zevenhuizen, there's a local cafe called 'Kajuiter' after the owner Doetse Kajuiter. It's a cosy cafe where 'everybody' seems to come very regualar! Doetse, the owner, organizes pop concerts and even his own 'Doetsstock'-festival. Local bands will perform here, and that's always a BIG EVENT!!People who come to visit those cafes are local people, but to Pruim they even come from cities all over the country!! As you wish (nothing fancy!)

Amsterdam IS a 24 hour city! The nightlife is abundant. There are many young people from just about everywhere that congregate and party through Amsterdam's night hours. In addition to several clubs in which to dance the night away, there is no shortage of 'redlight' activities in which to participate. Prostitution is legal, inexpensive (and reputedly safe, albeit with the required use of condems). Similarly, drugs (of nearly any kind) are fairly freely available, especially varieties of hashish and marijuana. The use of drugs (where it doesn't result in violent behavior) doesn't appear to be criminalized. As for me, I had my own opportunities to engage in a favorite activity of mine: pool! It proved to be rather profitable wagering against opponents that were also engaged in the use of one or more varieties of drugs. (I myself drank quite liberally, so it wasn't entirely unfair.) To the...

Well we did not do it, it was a little to cold and we had very busy days so did not feel like it. But when you come to Holland go to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag or Scheveningen for some good night live. I like it there. There are all kind of things to do, like discotheek or just a quiet place to sitt and watch the ocean. Its all there! In all the four place you can do whatever you want to do. Just go how you feel. And see what happens.Unless you are going to the Casino, you know you have to be really dressed up!!

It's very nice, especially for young people. In summer it's very busy. There are a lot of dancings and cafés all cosy together. In summertime, Renesse is the greatest party place of the Netherlands! You can wear anything you want.
I havn't had much of a chance to get out and about so can't advise on a specific spot. Obviously the big cities are your best bet - Amsterdam is noutorious for it's nightlife - head for the RLD!! The picture is of Rotterdam, which is aparantly also very good at night! I heard the 'Bayer Beach Club' (No, there is no paint or chemicals!) is excellent fun!

If you're in Groningen, I was told that there can be quite a crowd at the pubs near the Martini Tower. One of them the Three Sisters pub. Wouter, did I get this correct? :) Well, depends if you wanna be spotted or remain a wallflower.
