Dress warmly! In the beginning of spring (march, april), at the end of autumn (october, november) and in winter (december-february) it can be very cold in Holland. At least bring a scarf and a warm coat / raincoat, sweaters and long trousers DO YOU WANT TO SEE SOME MORE NICE VIEWS (PICS) OF HOLLAND? TAKE A LOOK AT MY NETHERLANDS TRAVELOGUE!

when on businesstrip/luxury: take a suitcase, when not: take backpack or sportsbag. Make sure when you go camping or cycling that your bags are waterproof. It often rains in Holland, especially in autunm, winter and spring! In summer: light clothes, but also a sweater, long trousers and a raincoat! In autumn: raincoat, rainboots, warm clothesIn winter: dress warmly! It can be very cold!Spring: light clothes, warm clothes and a raincote! No medicines: there are no diseases here. At every local medicineshop you can get medicines for headaches, stomach aches etc. Bring whatever you want, but make sure you carry a waterproof photobag with you. There are filmshops where you can buy films or wher you can get your films printed very well. You can sometimes even get your camera fixed here! Camping: towels, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, raincoatBeach: (in summer) towel, bottle of water,...

A fanny-pack is more helpful than a pocketbook. When everyone advises you to bring an umbrella or water resistant wind breaker ..... listen to them. Even if you have to carry it on those sunny days, you will need it before the day is over. If you bring a digital camera, don't forget to bring an adapter for your battery recharger. You don't want to miss any of those great pictures because you couldn't recharge your battery over night. Also bring extra cards for picture storage. See my travelogue for more pictures ... Found jeans, tshirt and sneakers the best outfit of the day.

Water-proof in case of rain. Samll and easy to carry! Easy, comfortable and fits the situation and your lifestyle. Holland is not so formal anymore. It seems the dress style in general is pretty relaxed but still somewhat fashionable.I would recommend that it is good to have a lightweight rain jacket and cardigan(in case) in summer and of course heavier style rain gear in and sweaters/jumpers in winter. Boots in winter come in handy and can dress up or down most clothes style for women. I found my Aran sweaters were quite helpful for the snow in December. Also a set of gloves, scarf, and knit hat were useful and necessary in the winter. Can find anything and everything in the stores and pharmacies in Netherlands. But I do feel that one should be prepared for the weather, Again..you can buy all camera needs here. When I was in Schavenigin in the winter..it was very helpful when...

Summers are lovely but along with your shorts and beachwear pack a light-weight raincoat - the odd shower cannot be ruled out. Winter winds can be cold and you should certainly wrap up well in January and February. The average temperature in these months hovers just above 2 degrees centrigrade. One of the nice things about Holland is that the Dutch are relaxed about clothes. You wear what you feel good in - particularly in Amsterdam when an opera audience happily turns up in jeans and t-shirts. Which is not to say you cannot wear dress if you want to. Men should bring a tie and women a skirt or dress if you plan dining up-market. Otherwise feel free.

IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO SPEND YOUR HOLIDAY IN HOLLANDTHEN BRING YOUR RAINCLOTHES, IS IS NOT RAINING ALL THE TIME BUT IT IS HANDY TO HAVE, TAKE SOME WARMERCLOTHES FOR THE EVENINGS, THEY SEEM TO BE MORE WINDY.THE SPRING AND AUTUMN ARE VARIED, SUMMER IS QUITENICE FOR THE TEMPERATURE(ABT. 20 DEGREES)AND WINTER ISNOT EXTREEMLY COLD, AT THE COLDEST IT IS, ESPECIALLY AROUND FLUSHING, BECAUSE IT IS SITUATED NEAR THE SEAAROUND FREEZING POINT. A GOOD GROUND COVER AGAINST THE WET SOIL

Rain coats and umbrellas!!! Even in summer rain is to be expected. Temps from -10 (winter) to 32 (summer) degrees (Celsius). Summers mostly with high humidity. Depending of time. From May till Sep. mostly good weather. From Oct. till May expect heavy rains and stormy winds. Toilets.......... this could be a laugh for you if you are not used to all those different kinds of toilets...... Videosystem used in Europe is PAL (SECAM for France), not NTSC!!! 220 volt, don't forget your power adapter!!

An umbrella is handy, I've needed it on both visits to this country. If visiting in winter dress warmly, it can be cold. If visiting from a country with a different voltage remember to bring your adapter and the right plug for the socket.

Because Drenthe is very green, it's not a bad idea to take some musquito stuff with you. Be ready to expect all kinds of weather. A raincoat is always welcome. It's no problem at all to get you films developed and to get all the things you need for your camera. Just remember, shops are closed on sundays! Drenthe is filled with camping sites. You can stay at a 'normal' camping or give it a try at one of the many campings at a farmers house. Lots of film and your swimwear in summer.
