Museum 'De Buitenplaats'. Just south of the city of Groningen in the village Eelde.
Museum for figurative arts. Amazing architecture in the organic style. The building is integrated with the garden around it, one does not exist without the other.
Picture taken from website.
Lia Laimböck had an exposition at this musem in 2002. www.lialaimbock.com

Groningen Airport is near the village of Eelde and that's a village near the city of Groningen.
There is a bus riding between Groningen station and the airport.
Since May 2012 there are new destinations: Marseille, Milano (Bergamo), Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona.

In summer the lake is swamped with boats, surf boards. It is just great to have an outing when the sun is about to set.

is gold....though this is one of the more expensive areas if you want to buy a house, strangely enough there are some run down houses along the lake.

If you are planning to spend some time at the lake and not willing to spend much money, better bring your picknick basket. Prices in any restaurant here are a bit overdone.
Unique Suggestions: You could do like us on a cold day: sit for a while waiting to be served and get warm.
Then, when the waitress just doesn t come, put your coat back on and walk out.
Fun Alternatives: On a cold day there s little alternative but to get back into the car, like we did.
But on a sunny day just sit at the lake and enjoy the view.

hiking trails. Some of these hiking trails go from the north to the south of the Netherlands.
These trails lead you through almost unspoiled nature.
