Bottom of the sea brings furtile soils
by Pavlik_NL
The Netherlands already knew that seabottom dried would be very furtile soil to grow crops on. The old area's that have been won from the sea proove this statement, though it is also discovered that this clay-soil when dry for longer periods slowly starts to compress itself and thus the land lowers even further then it already was low. Still, as long as the pumps keep working the land stays dry and the Dutch ... keep growing crops to export them all over the world (flowerbulbs, vegetables, grass for cows that give milk which becomes cheese etc.)
The impressiveness of this achievement still keeps me coming there. Flecoland is new, totally different then any other province and still so much part of The Netherlands.
A medieval castle?

Believe it or not, but someone is building a hughe castle in this area. It will be open to the public soon!
Everything is new here

Just imagine: only 30 years ago, this area did not exist! And now there is a whole new province with cities and everything that people need!
