In the high season Ameland is definately not like Terschelling, a party island that attracts especially teenagers and twennies that want to party all night long. Still, also on Ameland there are a few discotheques and Nes has two of them. One is the Swingingmill (the other is "De Lichtboei"). Nice thing is that age doesn't matter here and one between 16 and 46 can enter without being looked at strangely.
Dress Code: Hip, trendy, cool, average or ... well, whatever you'ld like.

The Bloody Mary is a mixed drink, everyone knows that. The Bloody Mary was also the name of a infamous pirate ship and the Bloody Mary is a very nice "brown" cafe in Hollum on the island of Ameland. The cafe is typical Dutch (that's why it is called "brown" (actually this refers to the use of lot's of wood) and has many ship-bow-statues standing around (voluptuous, roundbreasted ladies and mermaids). The Bloody Mary cafe also has a internet section.

It seems Ameland has night life but we sure didn t try it!
Haha, we were beat after days of swimming, cycling, walking!
The things we did were a visit to a local in Hollum to see the film 'Midnight Express' and afterwards the pub.
We found it far cheaper to drink at the caravan!

In Nes one finds the Nes cafe (get it?). Indeed, one cnan get a cup of coffee here, but it is also a wonderful spot to sit back and relax, watch passing people and chat about the experiences of the day. Nescafe has a terrace that on cooler evenings is heated. It really is a pleasant place to stay up late.
