This island you can see in the middle of the lake was called the 'Startisland'. The first days you always went overthere and learned a lot of things there, how get from board without getting wet and making knots.
Quiet, a lot of birds although there are a lot of people, nice spot to get your boat thitened up and more practical unique qualiltlies.

This was a nice walk every morning....sun just getting out of her bed and the birds going there.....and the peace and quiet was only disturbed by us....

I never have learned how to manage the sailboat....i am hopeless. When there is to much wind i cant stand it and hate sailing, when there is to little wind i love it but all the other would love to kill me for that ha ha
The kind of boat you see on the picture, is the kind of boat we have to learn to sail with. I amused myself but i never would do it again...

Favorite thing: Grouw is a little village, near the Pikmeer and the Princes Margrietcanal. It is the meancity of the community of Boarnserhim. It used to be a special place for boatman, fisherman and murchandeisers. Grouw has a bout 5600 people who live there. Its famous for its
wateractivities and is also called the meancity of the Friese waterland.
Fondest memory: Where you come from is not really a point, cause there is always a good bus, train, watertaxi or car (of your own) going the right way. In the former times you couldnt come into Grouw so easy, cause it was most of the time floded.
There are a lot of nice shops, a lot of bars and its a place for young and old people all together.
