On Terschelling over two thousand good quality bicycles are available for hire. Add to this a network of excellent cycle routes and signage for easy sightseeing on two wheels.
Be warned though that a level of fitness is required if you are to make headway up wind. Terschelling can be quite exposed to prevailing Noord Zee conditions.
Five Euro per day is an average fee.

Our experience with the ferries to Terschelling was no so pleasant because of the various kinds of boats serving the route and the rules for taking just a few or no bikes at all on some of them. We had to spend quite a few hours hanging around the harbour waiting for the boat which "accepts" bikes or which have some bike places left. It is good to book your bike places in advance, even 1 day in advance would save disappointment.

The most peoples come withouth the car to Terschelling. In Harlingen are big parkingplaces where you can leave your car. There is a shuttle bus who bring you to the ferry ticket and departing building.
The price is 1€ pp i believe.
Otherwise it is 15 min walk.

You have to use the ferry you can use the fast connection, 45 min or the slow boat 1,5hrs. You have to go with the slow boat if you want to take your car.

There is only one way to go to Terschelling and that is by boat.
The boat leaves from Harlingen (in province Friesland) and arrives in West Terschelling. Harlingen is reachable with the train and car.
There are 2 different kinds of boats, one fast boat (it will take 45 minutes to go to the island) and one slower boat and that will take 1 hour and 45 minutes.

From Harlingen can you go by fast ferry "De Koegelwiek" just 50 min. or the normal ferry 2 hours.
You go to the West Terschelling harbour.

The best way to see the island is by bike. There are a lot of bycle paths and also a lot of bycle rent compagnies.
