Its best feature is the view on the harbour. You can see the ferries come and go and the fishing trawlers etc. It serves normal food and drink with a local touch. Cranberries are a wellknow local berry. They have here cranberrie cake, pie and wine. The last one is very sweet...

With bicycle on the ferry
Our experience with the ferries to Terschelling was no so pleasant because of the various kinds of boats serving the route and the rules for taking just a few or no bikes at all on some of them. We had to spend quite a few hours hanging around the harbour waiting for the...
This is one of the ferry's from "rederij Doeksen". That cross the "waddenzee" from Harlingen-Terschelling-Harlingen.
What to buy: The Cranberry is originally from Canada, but a long time ago a barrel of cranberries ended up on Terschelling due to a shipwreck.
So on Terschelling there are a lot of thing to buy which are created with or from the cranberry.

Camping stuff on your bike
A backpack and a bicycle luggage bag. A nice map holder for the bike is very helpful as well.
As little as possible since you have to carry it around all the time. And there are laundry facilities on camp grounds.
The containers should be as small as possible since, again,...
Backpack and walking shoes
take your backpack with you.
And good hiking shoes are a must when you will walk over "De Boschplaat"and the beach.
And Terschelling is beautiful for making pictures.
Get Away from the Crowds
This is the Noord Zee Strand on Terschelling late in April close to Midsland aan zee. The sunshine, sand, sea and absence of people has a high level of appeal for a quiet time.
In terms of cleanliness, this is a very pristine strand. For the wildlife enthusiast shy, grey seals can be spotted enjoying the isolation around the island.

Since this island is surrouned by the sea you can do all sorts of watersports.
But because of the always available wind and waves, surfing in all its variations is a great thing to do i guess.
We saw kite surfing while we were there. The guys seemed to have no trouble at all in surfing the waves.
