Apeldoorns Kanaal

Favorite thing: There is a channel called ´Apeldoorns Kanaal`. It is a long channel. You fill find it all the way in Dieren (another city). If you want you can cycle or drive in a car all along this channel. You can make a lot of nice pictures during this ride.

Favorite thing: You could go to the entertainment parc 'Koningin Juliana Toren' (Queen Juliana Tower), an amusement parc with more than 35 attractions. It is just across the street of 'Het Loo'.
More information on Apeldoorn can be found on Apeldoorn site, in Dutch but I think you can get around just fine.

Fondest memory: When Wilhelmina and Hendrik wed in 1901, the people of Apeldoorn gave this obelisk to the royal couple.
It's right at the end of the 'Loolaan' and it s 20 metres high.

Aireal picture from the royal gardens.

Favorite thing: Visit the royal palace Het Loo. Here former kings and queens lived in there modest 'Versailles of The Netherlands'. Especially the gardens are beautiful with their synchrone pathstructure, the wonderful fountains and plants and flowers. By the way, 'Het Loo' actually means 'The Water', something that had to be transported from a place few kilometres away.

Fondest memory: Strawl across the gardens and enjoy the sun on the patio, while listening to sound of falling water in the fountain-ponds.

Favorite thing: This is a picture of the park Berg-en-Bos. It is a park with a forest and a lake. The most interesting part of it is the wild park of Apenheul, an incredible area where different species of apes, monkeys and other kinds of animal roam free among the visitors. A great experience (I have gone there many times and I enjoy it more and more).

Favorite thing: go to the Caterplein when the weather is good. There are a lot of nice bars and cafe's where you can sit all day long and stare at the people who walk by.

Fondest memory: The hoofdstraat in the centre of Apeldoorn is a real must-see for its many shops and nice places to go.

De kus/the kiss.

Favorite thing: In front of the train station there is this art monument. Due to the fact that there is a new train/busstation area, this monument was made. It is called 'De kus' (the kiss).
