Cemetries of this kind are to be found throughout the Netherlands as well as Europe. In our country the are somewhat built in a similar way and have in the entrancebuildings (hall ways where names are printed on the walls) a little box with a metal door. It is open for visitors and contains the register of all buried in this cemetry. So, ever search for a specific grave or person, this is the place to start with.

On these cemetries (just like the one in Oosterbeek), I always look up my name. Having a very international name, I always find a Daniels there and visit his grave to honour the guy that is a hero! Here however I was touched deeply, because the stone told me he died only a few weeks before the end of the war, leaving a wife and child behind in England. May his soul rest in peace.
