De Koperen Kop: Good visitor centre restaurant/cafe
Britannia2 Says:
A very large cafe restaurant with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. There are drinks both hot and cold available and a vast variety of things to eat from cakes and sandwiches to full meals including the wonderful Dutch pancakes that are made to order.
Restaurant "De Koperen Kop": The only one in the whole Park!
Roeffie Says:
This is the only possibility to visit a restaurant in the park. So I won't adives you to go here, because of the fact it isn't cheap, it isn't of high standard it's just the only possibility to eat something. My advice: Take your own food and drinks and have a picknick and...
Early morning walks: When all people are still asleep
The national park Hoge Veluwe organises often very early in the morning "ochtend wandelingen" (daybreak walks). You have to be present at 5:00 or 6:00 and a tourguide will show you the spots where the animals appear. Deer, wild bore, fazants, rabbits and hares will be seen. Occasionally and with a lot of luck also foxes and badgers. Ask for the program that is available in the visitor centre.
Dress Code: Jungle-outfit would be nice - haha. Good walkingshoes are recommended.

What to buy: We found these liqueurs at a shop in Apeldoorn. They appear to be typical for the area since lots of them refer to the 'Hoge Veluwe'
In the right of the picture - Veluwse apple wine
In the middle - cordial with herbes
On the right - an aldfashioned canned beer.

White bicycles
Britannia2 Says:
I think the idea of free white bicycles stems from an idea that started in Amsterdam in the 1960s - the bikes are available in a variety of sizes at the Visitor Centre and they are to be used to cycle through the national park - you can choose routes yourself or there are...

In the Visitors' Centre you can find information on the park.
Unique Suggestions: When you come to visit the park, you have the option of paying an entry fee for your car or parking your car at the entrance and cycling.
Also you can use your own bicycles or you can take one of the bikes that are provided free by the park.
You do not have to sign for the bikes, you just find one that fits and take it wherever you want in the park.
Fun Alternatives: But if you are already doing a tour by bike!!
Take care of yours... they disapeard quick

The three unity in the middle of nature
Pavlik_NL Says:
Along the road from Schaarsbergen to the Kroller-Muller museum one will pass a strange sculpture along the road. It is a three unity and looks quite mysterious on the hill where one finds behind the remainders of the museum as it was planned to be built at first.

Pavlik_NL Says:
In 1921 the Kroller-Muller wanted to built a museum themselves for the huge collection of art that they gatheed throughout their lifetimes. Henry van der Velde created a huge plan, made up from special "Maulbronner" sandstone. It got transported here by a special railroad...

Airpunk Says:
Once you get used to the bike route system, it will make orientation easy. There are hundreds of points, each marked with a number from 1 to 99 (thus, a number can appear several times on the map). At those points, you will find maps which do not show the place where you are...
