According to legend Mariken, having entered into a league with the Devil, was fettered in iron rings but that when her period of penitence was over the rings...

Nijmegen Restaurants

  • De Muis

We were here with family members aunt M. and Frank on the final day of the Four Days' Marches, 18 July 2008. Also present were Frank's walking mate and her family. • The old city wall tower

The restaurant is housed in the Belvédère, a former Walltower called the Hoendertoren. As such there are huge basement cellars used as gun powder rooms. This Italian/Greek restaurant was an extremely pleasant surprise, although we could have known since their motto is "good, cosy and cheap". This happens occasionally, but there's never much damage done (as long as you don't park your car or bike too close to the water's edge...). Instead people flock to the river and the restaurants and have a good time watching the water flow by.
