It is unknown when this watermill was build. But in the year 1313 it was named for the first time in history. In this watermill grain is made to flour. The watermill is powered by the water (there is a stream next to the watermill).

Here are some facts about this watermill:

    1768
The watermill was rebuild to a copper mill.

    1858
The copper mill is getting in decay and it is become a grain mill again.

    About 1870
The mill is also decorated as a bark mill (a bark mill for tannery).

    1885
The mill is prepared to make Swiss little cheeses.

    1917
The mill is becoming a water grain mill again and is getting the original function back.

    1984-1985
    Restauration of the mill building.

In Wenum Wiesel there is a major cafe/restaurant. It is called 'De Hamer'. In the summer (or at sunny days) you can sit outside at the terrace.
