The Provinciehuis is the building where the government of Provincie Groningen is seated.
The oldest part of the provinciehuis is formed by the former St. Maartensschool. In the 17th century this building became part of the Provinciehuis. The front (at the kerkhof side) is more recent (1916) and has a neorenaissancistic style. Picture is from this side.
The oldest part of the Provinciehuis comprises the former St Martin's School. This school building became a part of the Provinciehuis in the seventeenth century. The front part (adjoining the churchyard) dates from much more recently (1916) and is an example of neo-Renaissance architecture.

The provinciehuis, or building of the provincial government, was built in 1915-1917 in neo-Renaissance style, designed by architect J.A.W. Vrijman and incorporating several older buildings.
