All over the Netherlands, whether your walking or driving...as long as you're not on a bike: be careful
Most are safe...but if you're driving, regardless who runs into the other, the car driver is always ALWAYS mistaken if they hit a biker (motor or cycle)
they always have priority.

Sometimes someone will come up to you and ask for some money for a place to sleep or something to eat.Just ignore such people or pretend to be deaf.

You better take a person with you who can give you a nice massage otherwise you will have a stif neck on the end of the day. We saw a lot of very high buildings. We saw the Martini tower in a distance and we could see it very clear, so this is a very high building. All this looking to the sky will make you a little dizzy too. So better be with 2 persons when you go to Groningen. You can have a look one after the other and take care nobody will tumble over.

If you come to Groningen by car, make sure you park outside the town at one of the P&R areas (see map) and take the special bus from there. The center is not very car-friendly to say the least, and parking spaces are very hard to find.

Be VERY careful if you are riding a bicycle on the roads. Local buses will simply look left when passing you...giving them an excuse when they run you off the road.

Don't go to the Noorder Plantsoen (Northern Park) alone at night, specially walking.
It's simply not save.
