If you look closely you see the curve in the dyke, clearly pointing somewhat out to the sea, it is indeed the most northern point of The Netherlands.
At the left you can see a tractor ploughing the field.

The top of the province of Groningen is swamped with windmills.
I think it does no justice to the vaste countryside: those mills on sticks even make a disturbing noise.

The older dikes, the sleeper and the dreamer, have gates. In the old days, when the water still was threat, wooden doors were slipped in this gate so the water wouldn t flow into the polder behind it.

Favorite thing: sure comes in handy, especially when the sign has fallen down....here s my father holding up the pole...haha later on we figured out it was not to the right but to left we should drive.....
