If you look closely you see the curve in the dyke, clearly pointing somewhat out to the sea, it is indeed the most northern point of The Netherlands.
At the left you can see a tractor ploughing the field.
The visit on the dyke with sun setting, such a wonderful time I had up the dyke!

The top of the province of Groningen is swamped with windmills.
I think it does no justice to the vaste countryside: those mills on sticks even make a disturbing noise.
haha when I yelled : left! my dad startled and almost choked in a candy...we had to stop before he could drive properly again :-)
The older dikes, the sleeper and the dreamer, have gates. In the old days, when the water still was threat, wooden doors were slipped in this gate so the water wouldn t flow into the polder behind it.
so behave and be ware of sheep, they are not to be annoyed.
No dogs allowed, not even when on a leish.
Favorite thing: sure comes in handy, especially when the sign has fallen down....here s my father holding up the pole...haha later on we figured out it was not to the right but to left we should drive.....
