Jill Murphy's: Irish Pub
Naturally every place has it's Irish Pub. So does Roermond. Jill Murphy's is a pretty decent place. Fridays and Saturdays are the best nights.
The only Irish thing about the pub is that they do sell some Irish beer, for the rest its just party-on and have a drink!
Solar Weekend: Music festival
Someone on the Roermond forum asked about the Solar Weekend. I can't say much about it, save that it seems to be a rock festival.
The nearest hotels to the venue are in Roermond, of which TheaterHotel De Oranjerie, Kloosterwandplein 12-16 NL - 6041 JA Roermond looks to be the nearest at 3.5 kms. It is also 500 metres from the train station. Put in the address (see below) or simply Roermond into www.viamichelin.com and check the Hotels box. Which will give you a map of the city and region and a list of hotels.
There's also a B&B at 3 mins walk from the train station:
You'll probably take a train to Roermond, where you can leave your bags in a locker. However, with the hotel and B&B advice above, it might be wise to check in and leave your luggage at your accommodation address.

If you join, you could exchange information with other people planning to go there.
Note: Maasplassen at De Weerd 3, which is the venue of the festival, is in a nature park made up of lots of artificial lakes. Which means it is not near any built-up area. Find a map here

De Oranjerie: Theatre de Oranjerie
De Oranjerie is the Theathre of Roermond. The complex also hosts a bar, restaurant and hotel. Considering the size of Roermond, the theathre attracts a good deal of large productions and the program is quite filled. See the website for more information.
Cinema: See the movies
There are 2 cinema's in Roermond, there's a small and old one in the center called Royalline. If you walk from the station into the center it's at your left.
The bigger one is called Foroxity and is right at the Outletcenter, it's your average modern cinema with good seatings and yes they 3D movies.
