Roermond is one of the many cities in the Netherlands with Intercity connections.
The following options are available by train:
2x Hourly to Venlo (0:20) & Nijmegen (1hr), local commutertrain.
4x Hourly to Weert-Eindhoven (0:30), Utrecht (1:30), onwrads to Amsterdam area:
-- 2x Hourly trains will continue from Utrecht directly towards Schiphol Airport
-- 2x Hourly trains will continue from Utrecht directly towards Amsterdam Central station.
Eindhoven has direct connections towards Breda, Rotterdam and The Hague, trains towards this area depart from the other side of the platform
Utrecht has direct connections to basically everywhere in the country.

2x Intercitytrians to to Heerlen (0:30hr)
2x Intercitytrains to Maastricht (0:30hr)
All trains to Heerlen and Maastricht call at Sittard as well. From Sittard, additional trains leave for Maastricht and Heerlen. There is also a bus connection to Maastricht Airport.
There are no international trains calling at Roermond, but there is the possibility to travel to Mochengladbach and Dusseldurft through Venlo (though it's time consuming).
From Maastricht there are direct trains into Belgium (Liege-Brussels), and from Heerlen there are direct trains into Germany (Aachen)
For a visit to Roermond the easiest (and cheapest) parking is on the grounds of McArthurGlen Outlet. It's a huge parking lot in front of the shopping centre and the price is 2 euro for a whole day. It's a short 3 min. walk to the historical centre of Roermond.
