South of Venlo, after crossing Tegelen, there is a small place called Steyl. It houses a variety of catholic institutes. One of the off springs is a lovely botanical garden called "Jochumhof". Apparantly, every misionary was asked to sbring seeds and seedlings back. They were planted in already existing gardens. Now we have a nice collection of gardens: a rose garden, Japanese, bamboo etc. Remarkable is the "Tiglium" garden, a reconstruction of the place of about 1.6 million years ago. Also an overview of all the different biotopes of Limburg.The garden has a nice tea house (tea included in the admission price) with nice views across the Maas.
