You can take a chairlift up the hill to the Wilhelmina Tower.

A retour ticket is 3.50 euro, 2.50 euro for kids under 12.

On top of the hill you can make a ride on a toboggan/bobsled or visit the Wilhelmina Tower.

It may pay off to get a combi-ticket for both the chairlift and the toboggan rides!

Alternatively, you can take the stairs up the hill, they are to the right of hotel Atlanta (Neerhem 20).

The only chairlift going up a hill and only toboggan run in the Netherlands as fa as I know.

So this is a unique event to do! People won't believe you as you say I came done a Dutch Hill in a toboggan sled!

Very nice to do go up with the chairlift and make a few rides It's sheer fun.

From here you can see the whole of southern Limburg province. Even Maastricht and as far as Belgium is visible. Also Heerlen town and Vaals are visible.

Beautiful view on the ruins and the town itselve. This is also a café-restaurant. The entrance to the top is free.

Thermae 2000

Themepark Sprookjesbos

A nice themepark for your kids until 8 years of age, not suited for larger kids in my opinion. A kind of tableaus of wellknown fairy tales, a nice play ground, a western town. A wild water ride and karting in a grotto.

I think it's a bit expensive for the time you will spend here, which will be 2 hours at the most, but that is only my humble opinion!

In Valkenburg they have a great simple place for children. Fairytale land Valkenburg offers for the youngest among us a nice combination of attractions. Fairytales is the keyword here and one steps from one to another in this small park that offers a good afternoon's entertainment. In an attempt to keep up with the "Efteling" and "Disney" they added few spectacular attractions too. A waterslide and a ship might be able to satisfied the teenagers a little, but it keeps being a park for 10 years old and under.

The prehistorische monstergrot :
A cave with dinosaur statues. Only open in summer. a great kids attraction.

Since 2005 the prehistoric monstercave is closed! The dinosaur statues and neanderthal objects are moved to the Valkenier. They will form a new attraction in the amusentspark. The amusentpark for younger children has the same owner as the monstercave. The price of the amusentpark is not raised.

The cave itself is owned by the municipality and it is not known yet what is going to happen here.
