The trainstation in Valkenburg is a national monument. it is the oldest operating trainstation in the country. It is entirely made out of marlstone. More about it in the marlstone travelogue.

    St. Nicolaas & Barbara church

by OlafS Updated Apr 23, 2003

An originally medieval church, but so drastically enlarged that little of the original is left. Still a nice building, especially because this is also entirely built of marl. Of course.

    Former protestant church

by OlafS Updated Jun 11, 2003

This peculiar former protestant church is now a Greek restaurant. I've never seen a church like this and can't say anything about the style.
