The neighborhood called Ginneken, south of the city centre, is a former village, annexed by the city of Breda after WWII. It's still has the village-type atmosphere, however. Tree-lined streets and a nice market square make it a nice neighborhood to stroll around, and the bars aren't as crowded and frequented by 'strangers' as in the city centre.
