Many cafe's, bars and terraces: Student atmosphere without a university
The atmosphere in Breda is like that of a university-town. It doesn;t have that, but the many higher schools, averaging on university level add to an enormous vast group of students that somehow know how to party a little bit more then the other people. They, however, join often in the atmosphere and together "Breda" always stands for a great atmosphere on terraces, cafe's and bars in every square in town, and the "markt" in particular. Students enjoy lower prices (which - in my opinion - should be prohibited soon as it is just a way of discrimination)
Donatello's: Great Italian food
This place serves the best Italian food against very low prices. Ther is evrything from pizza's and pasta's to meat and fish. The only disadvantage is that you sometimes have to wait a long time till you get served. But believe me it's worth the wait.Related to:

Cafe Bruxelles: Cheap and cheerful
One I like nowadays is Café Bruxelles on the Havermarkt. Apart from being a nice drinking place, their dishes are great.
There's a big terrace on one of Breda's fav squares, the interior is spacious and the menu is very complete.
Favorite Dish: The Bruxelles salad is gorgeous, with paté, cheese, nuts and a raspberry dressing.
Breda has some fine...
Breda has some fine restaurants. Close to the Millitary Academy there's Humphrey's, here you can enjoy a fairly good meal for as less as 40 guilders.
At the Grote Markt beneath the tower of the Big Church, you've got d' Atillio. A nice Italian restaurant with great food, try their pasta's !!
In 'Het Ginneken' is Uncle Jean, a very nice and friendly place to be.
But my all time favourite is Don QuiJohn in Princenhage. The food is more than great !! Service is of toplevel and they have an excellent wine chart.
Favorite Dish: At Don QuiJohn we like to be taken by surprise. So that menu is called 'Surprise Menu'. Can't tell you what it is ........ you're right, it's a surprise.
Het KabinetI went here...
I went here recently to enjoy a meal on the outside terrace while it was about 23 degrees Celcius outside. Wonderful! Just sitting outside on this terrace is already great, because this restaurant (or better 'eetcafé' in Dutch) is located on the Grote Markt which is very lifely and filled with outside terraces when the Dutch weather allows it.
Favorite Dish: I had the 3-course menu for only Fl. 37,50 (about US$16). As a starter I had a green salad with scampis which was good. For my main course I chose the white fish filet filled with little shrimps and for dessert I had a Portuguese custard pie with icecream; also known as Pastel de Natas. It was all very tasty and good value for money. Just be patient with the waiters, it seems like this is their very first job...
These are a couple of...
These are a couple of restaurants that are nice and fit my tight student budget:
Da Atillo; an Italian restaurant at the Grote Markt.
De Boulevard; an 'a la carte' restaurant also Grote markt. Satehut; nice Asian especially Indonesian dishes.
Not just one restaurant ,many restaurants.
In this picture of centre of Breda we saw all this Bars & Restaurants , all the outdoor Patios , too bad it was not so nice weather , not many people were on the outdoor Patios.
Stadshotel de Klok
Favorite Dish: We had brunch here and I chose the yoghurt with ice cream. The Dutch pancakes they have on the menu are very yummy too by the way!Related to:
