    Kasteel Bouvigne

Standing at the edge of the Mastbos ( a forest just outside the centrum of Breda ), is the KASTEEL BOUVIGNE.Built in the 17th century, the castle is surrounded by water.
Presently occupied by the Conservancy Board of Waterworks.
Perhaps the most charming aspect of the Castle is its reflection in the pond located in front of it. On this day, it was a particularly blue sky.

    Bouvigne Castle

Kasteel Bouvigne stands at the edge of the Mastbos. The castle is first mentioned in documents dated 1554. In 1614 it was converted into a hunting lodge. Kasteel Bouvigne borders on a beautiful garden. The present garden is open to the public and has a lot of different styles like French, German and English.

    Breda: Bouvigne castle

This is a former village that now is a part of the city, but still has its own village-character. See the St. Laurentius church and Bouvigne castle and enjoy a drink at one of the cafés. The castle cannot be visited but the garden can so you can at least see a bit of the exterior. Oh, and the great view you have from where I took this picture won't cost you anything at all, just look out for dog sh*t.

    The Castle of Bouvigne

This castle, dating from the start of the 17th century, is completely surrounded by water. It has been renovated several times and has French and English gardens. It used to be the summer residence of rich families living in the city. It came into the hands of the prinses of Orange, who didn't really care for the castle. From 1774 until 1930 it passed a lot of owners and was finally bought by the Ginneken community. Presently it is owned by the Conservancy Board for Waterworks.

    Bouvigne Kasteel

This castle is located by the Mastbos and was built in 17th century. Unfortunately, you can't go inside since the 1972 the catle is the office of the Water works organization and people are not allowed to enter the historical building. Sure you can get the nice look at it and take a picture from the roadside. The catel is really beautiful and competely surrounded by water. Walking around the castel is possible through its beautiful park that is open for public. You can easily get there by bike and include it in your Mastbos routes. If you don't bike you can always take bus number 130 which will take you to the historical building
