We were here to see the Great British band and Mercury Prize winners .. Elbow.... who were performing their last gig of their European tour here in Eindhoven.
The venue is very central - not sure about capacity. It was possible to stand right by the stage too... in the UK there are usually security barriers.
Anyway ticket prices will vary according to the artists playing. Seemed strange that this venue wasn't sold out when Elbow are playing Wembley Stadium in the UK next year. At least a few more Dutch now know of their brilliance :))

The square opposite the train station (city side) is an old an well-known place to go out. In consists of the Stationsplein (`plein` is Dutch for square) and the Dommelstraat. You will find dozens of restaurants and bars door-to-door. Besides, there are two discotheques and a big cinema.
Dress Code: The dress code varies from place to place, but there is something for everyone.

A cafe just some min. walk from the station.
In the weekend it can be very crowded! Daytime its really nice to sit here on the terraces (on 2 sides because its located on a corner) in the sun having a drink and u can order some food if u like.
A lil expense when events taking place, prices go up in most pubs of this area.

The Effenaar Cultureel Centrum De Effenaar has an extensive range of cultural activities: films, pop concerts and various events that have to do with music, art and culture. The Effenaar is also home to a pub that serves meals and on Saturday there is dancing in the Dance Department.

Even if you aren't going to see a band the bar is quite a pleasant place for a beer or two.
There is also a cafe with a few vegetarian options.
De Effenaar has bands that cover all musical tastes from death metal to dance.

Actually this is a cultural centre in Eindhoven. But every weekend there is something to do over here. I once was there for a concert of the Belgian band Novastar. And on another occasion I was there at a disco party with lots of attractions in the building. It were 2 good evenings to me.
