  • The fountain...

When the town centre of Huijbergen was totally renewed in the 90´s, there also became a place for this nice fountain. From every side you´ll approach this fountain, you´ll always see the big "H", that stands for Huijbergen. It has often been a place of jokes. When the Dutch National football team had to play the World Cup, the water in the fountain...

This post-war church was built in 1952 to replaced the old one that was bombed by the Germans in the WW II. It is a catholic church, built in a neo-roman architecture, like a old basilica. Near this Statue of Teresia and the forrest behind it, the local people of Huijbergen come to find a moment of rest and reflection. The statue is dedicated to Teresia of Lisieux, who lived from 1873 until 1897. She was declared holy in 1925. It is one of the many obvious remainings of the brethren of the cloister of Huijbergen. The Pannekoekenhuis is the best restaurant of Huijbergen. At the side of the restaurant at the Hollandseweg, it is a snackbar where you can buy fries and Dutch specialties like a frikandel and bitterballs.
At the side at the Dorpsstraat it is a restaurant. Not only specialised in pancakes (pannekoeken), but also the place to eat meat and fish ánd the specialty of the house: grilling your own meat on a stone. Very nice!

    Favorite Dish: The stone-grill!

We need your support! Entrance is free.

    * I´m the one at the foreground of the picture. A brutal left defender! *
