If you arrive in this small southeastern Dutch town of Somern, take a visit in the city hall, when we were there our friend Cillia had a presentation of some of her photography work, along with several other artists. She told us that there are often offerings of local art works on show here at the city hall.

If you have ever been interested in music or loved music you have heard then visiting Harry and Cillia in their flute making shop would be perfect for you. These two artists begin with the raw materials and make all the parts for a complete flute. You can see Harry working on some of the smaller parts after they have been cast in metal, he files them down to a very precise measurement for each individual instrument (or as a replacement for an old flute). After all the pieces have been readied, then Cillia will begin the final assembly where she will do any final fileing requried during assebly...after all this work you can present this work of art to another artist, the performer...

It may sound funny, but it is true, a true Dutchman has in place of legs, WHEELS...you see people on bikes EVERYWHERE...and Harry and Cillia tried to get us to do some riding also (well I would have, but Zohara does not ride, so will have to wait till next trip), and they truly do go everywhere on the bikes, even to the supermarket.
