Favorite thing: Some major events that happen every year. No exact dates available.

Meimarkt: in May. This day the whole centre is turned into a big fleamarket.

Tilburg Hap Stap Festival: end of May. The restaurants of Tilburg let you taste some of their stuff at one big festival. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Festival van het Levenslied: Early June. Festival dedicated to bad Dutch-language music ever. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Festival Mundial: June. Big cultural festival, mainly 'world music'. Several locations in the city. Big closing manifestation with international and nationally famous acts, as well as not so famous ones.

Tilburgse Kermis: July. Biggest funfair of the Netherlands. Monday is a big gay-tolerance event. If you hate big crowds of people you'd better not come on Monday.

Boeken rond het Paleis: Late August. Big open-air bookfair.

Favorite thing: Festival Mundial is a yearly event that features all kinds of music, but especially world music. At the end of the festival there is always a 2 day music fest with a lot of performances. Last year I saw some great bands like Noa and Orchestra Baobab. There's also a multicultural market, and the necessary 3rd world awareness. And of course the food is excellent. This year the end fest takes place on June the 14th and 15th. Sergeant Garcia and Lucky Dube are among the performing artists.

The event takes place at the Leijpark, next to the St Elisabeth Hospital. there are shuttle busses running to the festival from the train station. Tickets cost less than 10 Euro for 1 day.

Favorite thing: Already for many years in the summer is organized a very big and multicultural festival with music, exotic foods, books, CD's, information. The final weekend is two days but it starts 2 weeks before. Also many schools participate and have people from other countries visiting

Favorite thing: Every year The inhabitants from Tilburg and the surroundings are waiting for their moment. The "Tilburgse kermis" (Tilburg Fair). As they tell us always it's the biggest in the Benelux. There is a mile of all kind of attractions through the city centre and the newest and wildest things can be seen and be 'tasted'. Many people visit these 9 days in july. If you're there in july, don't miss it. You will love it, even if you only come to watch

July 22nd. 'Roze Maandag'meaning Pink Monday.
Tomorrow start the Roze Maandag again, its a yearly event specially for gay people very interesting and a lot of fun, travestite acts and fundraising for aids.
Wuppies are sold for this cause look at the pictire below.
This year the theme is: celebrate together, hetero and gay.
This fair is a mix with fantastic attractions and an art-manifest.
