Wijk Travel Guide

These two shields are the local coat of arms. On the left is the old one (pre-1972). The two red wheels on a silver background origiate from the nearby old city of Heusden, to which Wijk belonged for centuries. After 1972, the new municipality of Aalburg got its new coat of arms (see the right one), but the wheels of Heusden are still very prominent as a reminder from the days of yore!
