Clogs & Wooden Shoes, Amsterdam
Favorite thing: I had my first pair at age of 4 years old, cannot remember who gave them to my mom, but they are still around. I tried them again at age 18, fell down like a ton of bricks and then decided in future we will only look at them not wear them. But you have to go to the factory to see how they are made.
The locals are very friendly and helpful whenever it came to asking for directions. Walking around Amsterdam is the best way to take in the sights. Yes, its possible to walk from the city centre all the way to Centraal Station. If you get tired, you can always take their trams which arrive at regular intervals.
Also do check out their many shops which range from the usual souvenir fare
to the sleazier ones like those selling adult toys and xxx videos, mementos.....Definitely an eye opener for people like us Singaporeans where such items are banned in our country.
Left: Clogs of different sizes and colours deck the walls of souvenir shops.

Favorite thing: We enjoyed watching this clog-making demonstration. He was very efficient and churned this clog out in no time. At this same establishment, we were able to sample and purchase different cheeses. Yum, but still prefer my feta!
Fondest memory: Amsterdam was my 2nd home for a few months so I have many nice memories: like.... many nice lazy evenings at home, Queens Day madness, many nice meals, many hours on the train, many late arrivals, a three day birthday with a flying kite at the beach, many lovely walks etc etc...
Shop at the Ratterman Clog Factory.
Fondest memory: Shop for souvenirs at the Clog Factory. The prices are reasonable, and from wooden tulips, to clogs and windmills, you will have plenty of choices. I really regretted not getting a pair of clogs. They're just so pretty.
